Our history
  • 1932
Mr H.H.G. Stroomberg started a cattle and meat trade in Bennekom, which developed so well that he decided to start his own slaughterhouse. Due to World War II, further development stagnated.
  • 1959
In Ede, a new slaughterhouse and meat products factory was built, which will export to important export countries such as England, Italy and France.
  • 1980
Due to the expansion achieved over the years and the good reputation of the company, it was acquired by the British multinational Union International.
  • 1981
Brothers Jan and Bart Stroomberg founded Handelsonderneming Gebr. Stroomberg. Their focus here was mainly on the marketing of hams to Southern Europe, with an emphasis on Italy.
  • 1990
Gebr Stroomberg BV participates in a breeding company in Weert, after which a complete acquisition follows. This is where further specialisation and processing of hams at a customer-specific level begins.
  • Anno 2019
The production location has undergone a complete metamorphosis, bringing it in line with all the latest developments and leading to growth in the field of global export.
